GOOD NEWS: St. Louis Cardinals’ Projected Starting Rotation After Latest Signings

He’s obviously making a mockery of the rotation. The Cardinals have long been linked to a deal with the Mariners in exchange for some of their young starting pitching. Jorstad believes the Cardinals should still be interested, despite the M’s potentially obtaining a young hitter in the transaction.

The Cardinals’ projected rotation includes Miles Mikolas, Gibson, Lynn, Steven Matz, and Zack Thompson. Four of those starters are above the age of 32, while three are over the age of 35. It is hardly a long-term solution for St. Louis.

Matz struggled last season, going 4-7 with a 3.86 ERA, while Lynn went 13-11 with a 5.73 ERA. Gibson was 15-9 with a 4.73 ERA, while Mikolas was 9-13 with a 4.78 ERA.

Obviously, there is still time for the Cardinals to make other moves, but that is how the rotation currently looks.
