WEST HAM are on the verge of signing defender Konstantinos Mavropanos in a deal that will cost the club just £17 million.

It is no secret that David Moyes has been keen to improve that back-line this summer and add a defender to his squad – and there was alot of talk that Harry Maguire was top of the list.

However, despite all the speculation, despite all the rumours and despite the fact that he is no longer in the plans of Erik Ten Hag – Maguire has made the decision to stay put and snub a move to London Stadium.

West Ham have moved on quickly from that disappointment and have swiftly secured the signature of Stuttgart centre-back Mavropanos

There were rumours on Monday night that the deal had fallen through because the 25-year-old had failed his medical, but they seen to be all false as the defender is set to complete a move to West Ham.

The Greek international will become David Moyes’ third signing of the summer following midfield arrivals Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse, as his side look to better their standing in the Premier League and compete in the Europa League.

Mavropanos is not the flop of a player that once failed to shine at Arsenal and has made a real name for himself in the Bundesliga and Stuttgart.

He will be a very solid addition to that Hammers side and he will be a welcomed addition to the squad – great bit of business by WEST HAM when a deal is announced.
