Claim Burnley have made £15.5m offer for player – Five-year contract on the table…
Just under a week ago, we covered a report claiming that Burnley were in concrete talks to sign Sporting CP’s Renato Veiga.
The news was that Vincent Kompany’s side wanted the defensive midfielder, but the Portuguese side were asking for €6m.
Well, that hasn’t put off Burnley, who are, according to Fussball Transfers’ Dominik Schneider, pushing to get a deal over the line.
The Premier League side are said to have made an offer to their Portuguese counterparts, which is of £15.5m to be paid in three instalments.
Then, Burnley have put on the table a five-year contract for the player, showing just how committed they are to him being a part of their long-term plans.
In comparison, their competition, FC Basel, are only ready to sign him for four years, while Standard Liège in Belgium are also keen.
If you are wondering why a German journalist might know a lot about a 20-year-old Portuguese player’s transfer situation, it will likely be because the defensive midfielder was loaned to FC Augsburg last season for the second half of the campaign.
