Nottingham Forest are interested in Argentine striker Alejo Veliz, according to claims today.

The information is revealed by the Italian media, where Gianluca Di Marzio shares a story about the race for the 19-year-old.

The piece is mostly focused on AC Milan’s interest. It’s said the Rossoneri recently held a meeting with the player’s agent and an offer will possibly be made in the coming days.

It’s then pointed out that the Serie A giants aren’t the only ones fighting for Veliz. Torino already presented a bid which was considered too low, and Nottingham Forest are also competing.

Regarding the Tricky Trees, it’s said the club ‘initiated contacts’ to bring the striker to the Premier League

Rosario Central’s initial demand is said to be €15m, which is the amount of his release clause. Still, according to Di Marzio, they can end up selling him for a ‘slightly lower’ figure.

It’s still unclear how much Milan and Nottingham Forest would put on the table to sign Veliz, so that’s a tough race to predict for now.

Featuring for Rosario Central this season, the youngster had 11 goals and one assist in 23 appearances so far. He’s also part of Argentina’s U-20 squad, taking part in the U-20 World Cup this year.

REAL MORE:

Nottingham Forest is interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner as they struggle to seal a deal for Manchester United’s Dean Henderson.

The latter spent last season on loan with them and is now looking to move to the City Ground permanently.

However, the move is getting complicated and has made Forest look at other options, one of which is Turner.

Mikel Arteta trusts the American to be Arsenal’s number two, but the Gunners will move for David Raya if Turner leaves.

This is a clear indication that they will be open to the sale and the Daily Mail reveals Steve Cooper’s side is now keen on the impressive American.

Just Arsenal Opinion

Turner is a fine goalkeeper and proves this whenever he gets the chance to play for the club and the USMNT.

However, he cannot take the place of Ramsdale at the moment, which is a shame, but we expect him to do well if he joins a smaller Premier League club.

We will likely make less money from his departure than we would spend to replace him, so the club has to think very well before allowing him to leave.Argentina forward Alejo Véliz being followed by AC Milan | Mundo Albiceleste

Otherwise, we might be stuck with only one established first-team goalkeeper in the group.
