BEST ASTON DEAL: Aston Villa sign £34m-rated star play maker midfielder as…

Unai Emery will know that his team needs to get over that setback and concentrate on qualifying for the Champions League this season, even though Aston Villa will have been disappointed to lose in the Europa Conference League semi-final.

Like many other clubs, Villa is already thinking about the upcoming season and will be searching for fresh talent. Alex Baena of Villarreal is one player who has been connected to the team.
Unless the Villains falter in their remaining games and let Tottenham Hotspur in via the back door, there’s a good chance they’ll finish in the first spot.

Because of the huge point differential, the Lilywhites would need to win every game they have left to secure a UCL spot, regardless of Villa’s performance. Therefore, they would also need to win all of their remaining games.

Bryan King, an ex-club scout, told Villa News that there’s a strong likelihood the £34 million-rated star will sign with the Midlands-based team.

“Emery’s relationship with Baena could be very beneficial to Aston Villa,” he was cited as saying.

“Football players will always be indebted to the manager who gives them their first opportunity at the game.

“If the price is paid, Baena would be more than delighted to collaborate with a previous boss. Although Villa has always been interested in these elite players, signing them is now considerably simpler for the team.

Personally, I would have preferred for us to win the cup; the Europa Cup the next season would have been acceptable; Emary would have had the opportunity to strengthen our team even further; he could have won it; and we would have progressed and prospered without the spotlight of our first season in the CL, when we were likely a little underdeveloped.

But now that we’re out of the cup, the media will call us bottlers, etc., if we don’t place fourth, and I would hate for the lads and UE to receive that moniker.

Our squad is extremely small, as everyone has witnessed lately, and we really need reinforcements, one of whom need to be a gifted striker. The next season, Watkins will not play sixty games. I’m just biassed, but I think Diaby should be released because we won’t have any elite players if we win the Champions League.
