DONE DEAL: Gophers announces the acquisition of Three-star Height: 6’2” Weight: 190 QB

Earlier this week, I received an alarming Slack message from Gopher Nation:

“Write about recent recruitment comments. “Or I will.”

These may not have been his precise words, but they were as unsettling. I understood what needed to be done. I had to get back on the recruiting trail. So here I am, prepared to serve the people.

On March 23, the Minnesota Golden Gophers acquired their first commitment from the Class of 2025, when safety Zachary Harden made a verbal promise.

You might look at LeBron James and Jae Crowder and conclude they’d never have beef because they’re in different tiers of the league. But that’s not how the story plays out– actually maybe it’s becuase of their status differential that the beef existed. Crowder could challenge LeBron. On several occasions. In the post season. Which is kinda embarrassing for LeBron. Now, Crowder accomplished that by being really physical– which I can’t see LeBron enjoying. And apparently when LeBron gets mad, he gets a little vengeful. Harden is a physical cornerback. He has long arms that can be disruptive in pass coverage, and his ball skills make him a threat to force a turnover when opposing quarterbacks throw the ball his way. Harden demonstrates a high football IQ on film and seems to have a competitive drive that is on display every play. This is a very good pick-up for Minnesota cornerbacks coach Nick Monroe, though he’ll look to help Harden add strength once he gets to the collegiate level.
