Tilio made only a few substitute appearances for Celtic after first joining due to fitness difficulties before being loaned out to Melbourne City. His return to Australia appeared hopeful, as he soon regained form, receiving Player of the Month honours and revitalising his game. However, his development has been delayed yet again.

Tilio recently disclosed on Instagram that he had sustained a quad ailment while recovering from a hamstring condition. This recent setback means he will miss the next Under-23 Asian Cup, a tournament for which he was chosen after his remarkable achievements.

This is a significant blow for Tilio, who had been looking to capitalise on his recent call-up to gain international experience and continue his upward trajectory. The timing is unfortunate, as participating in the Asian Cup could have bolstered his resume and confidence.

Celtic and Melbourne City will now be monitoring his recovery closely, hoping he can overcome this latest hurdle and return to his promising form as soon as possible.

Celtic’s “incredible” star must be unleashed with O’Riley

Celtic return to Scottish Premiership action this afternoon, travelling away from Parkhead to face their closest rivals in an attempt to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

A defeat at Ibrox would leave the Hoops two points behind Rangers, despite having played one more game, while a win would put them four points ahead.

Brendan Rodgers’ side is coming off a 3-0 win against Livingston last time out, thanks to an own goal by Jamie Brandon and goals from Paulo Bernado and Matt O’Riley.

Rodgers may want to make changes following the win over Livingston, as Kyogo Furuhashi had a particularly dismal performance at the top of the pitch.

The Northern Irish manager must now unleash Norwich City loanee Adam Idah on the Japan international in order to build a potentially lethal final-third pairing with O’Riley.
