Wolves’ dreams of playing in Europe were revived yesterday with an outstanding 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

With Gary O’Neil executing a flawless game plan, Wanderers defeated Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, bouncing back from their setback to Brentford in spectacular fashion.

Matheus Cunha, a vital player for Wolves, was sidelined due to a “serious” hamstring injury.

Hwang Hee-chan, who was injured and missed the Brentford game, was welcomed back by O’Neil.

The idea was to sit back, defend, and hit on Pedro Neto as he played up top. The strategy was quite successful, although the hosts were somewhat hindered by Neto’s speed.

The two goals for Wolves were scored by the excellent Joao Gomes, with Neto setting up the Brazilian’s second goal.

Although the winger was outstanding yesterday, he went to recognize a guy who has quietly had his finest season at Wolves since joining the team after the game.

Pedro Neto praises ‘underrated’ Wolves star Nelson Semedo

It was crucial for Wolves to bounce back against Spurs on Saturday following a somewhat disappointing loss to Brentford the previous game.

In the Premier League, Wolves consistently appear to step up their game when playing the Big Six, and they proved to be worth the three points yesterday.

But Nelson Semedo, who was all motion, was another player who was outstanding against the Spurs.

Semedo was a threat in addition to being a reliable defensive player, recording four clearances, one block, one interception, and two tackles (per Sofascore). He may have scored in the first half, and he set up a flawless pass for

Neto shared his thoughts about Semedo in Wolves’ video after the game, which the team posted to X. Wolves also conducted an interview with Semedo.

The winger stated, quoting the video, “Underrated. What a role model.

Semedo’s season with the Wolves is interesting.

Given how brilliantly the forwards have played, he hasn’t really gotten the credit he deserves, but under O’Neil, he has been outstanding this season.

The manager’s efforts with players like Cunha, Hwang, and Neto are evident, but the two wing-backs have also excelled this season.

The £80,000-per-week standout Semedo used to be routinely questioned about his defensive skills at Molineux.

However, he seems to have found his groove and is now much more adept at positioning himself and looking strong in one-on-one situations.
