The Las Vegas Raiders are unlikely to make the playoffs with a 5-7 record, but there may be some hope for them in the upcoming year.
Maxx Crosby, a standout pass rusher, is one of the players they can base their immediate future plans around.
With 11.5 sacks this season, Crosby appears to be headed for another Pro Bowl selection. Crosby has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the previous two seasons.
He was just nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award, and even though he wasn’t fully recovered, he played in the Raiders’ most recent game against the Chiefs.
Crosby discussed what drives him to perform even when he’s not feeling well, according to Tom Pelissero.
Due to a knee injury, the defensive end was iffy for Week 12, but he still participated in the 31-17 loss to the Chiefs, recording one sack and one tackle for loss.
His prowess on the field has been surpassed in excellence only by his off-field efforts, which earned him a nomination for the Man of the Year award.
He has assisted impoverished children, backed the “It’s A Penalty” campaign to raise awareness of the resources available to stop human trafficking, and participated actively in the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
At just 26 years old, Crosby is a future building block for the Raiders, along with standout wide receiver Davante Adams and fellow wideout Jakobi Meyers.
