The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the world’s most influential professional sports clubs, and we take the time each week to answer fan inquiries.
The Las Vegas Raiders (5-7) prepare to meet the Minnesota Vikings (6-6) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday.
As we prepare for this huge divisional game, we’ll answer some of Raider Nation’s questions and e-mails.
I just read that the NFL rescheduled the games for Week 15; I was wondering if there was any chance that our scheduled Thursday night game vs the Chargers may be changed after this weekend. I’m a season ticket holder, and I’m just checking to make sure my schedule is set. Joe G.
Hello, Joe. The Raiders versus. Chargers game is set for Thursday.
We had no turnovers or penalties, Hondo. AOC passed for about 250 yards and (Josh) Jacobs ran for over 100 yards. How come we still don’t have more than 20 points? Mr. Jaime V.
That is an excellent question, and one that they are attempting to answer. Coming down the stretch, the Silver and Black will take a different approach, which I am looking forward to watching.
I’ve always enjoyed seeing rookies develop, and while I’m encouraged by the progress of all of the Raiders’ rookies from this year’s class–I think Burney and Nesta will be good ones; I haven’t heard much about Byron Young. How far has he come? Thanks, Mr. Kevin C.
He has some experienced players in front of him who are doing well. Jerry Tillery, Jonathan Jenkins, Adam Butler, and Bilal Nichols are all important contributors to the Silver and Black defense’s success. He needs to break past that group, but he’s grinding, so I don’t believe there’s anything to be concerned about. If it looks like this in a year? There is, indeed.
Hondo, I read and enjoyed your most recent in-depth essay. I was wondering if you thought the Raiders might have moved up to number one or two in the past draft. Christopher L.
The Raiders told me during the 2023 NFL Combine that they had contacted out and knew the expense of moving up to both one and two. So, yes, they could have since they informed me they could, at the very least at the time.
Do you know when your following list of what you’ve heard about probable next coaches will be released, Hondo? I, too, am rooting for Antonio Pierce, but I’d want to know what others are thinking. Mike M.
I usually close our week with the Hondo Hate segment, and this week was no exception. Instead, I thought we’d end on a lighter note with two emails:
Hello, Hondo. My daughter Madison is a Raiders fan (she gets it from me), and we listen to your podcasts on a daily basis. I’m going our family to see the Kansas City Chiefs play on Christmas (our family trip), and she’s worried that Santa will forget about us because we’re staying in a hotel. I explained that Santa would leave one gift at the hotel and the rest at our house when we returned. She’s not so sure. I told her she should ask you. I’d appreciate some assistance here. Thank you very much. Mr. Bryan T.
Mr. Hondo S. Carpenter, Sr., from Sports Illustrated’s Fan Nation Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast. Madison is my name, and I am seven and a quarter years old. I’m in the second grade. Like my father, I am a fan of the Las Vegas Raiders. My mother claims she’s fine with it since there are a lot of badder daddys out there. My father is an arktip, which means he draws things to be built. On Christmas Day, we will attend the game against the Chiefs. I’m afraid Santa won’t find us and there won’t be any presents. Is Santa aware that folks do not always come to the house? Thank you for taking the time to respond. Christmas greetings. Madison PS my
Hello, Madison, and thank you for your message. Your question is excellent, and it is one that any child anywhere in the world would ask if their parents were taking them out of town for Christmas. Let me reveal a little secret to you. Santa is well aware of your folks’ trip arrangements. I’m guessing he’ll leave all of your gifts at home, but because you’ll be seeing him at the game, don’t be surprised if he drops off one Christmas present at the hotel. Merry Christmas, and I hope to see you there. By the way, I enjoy soft sugar cookies, but Mrs. Carpenter is assisting me with my diet, and I must be cautious as an adult.

Also, please ask your parents’ permission, and if they agree, I’d want to send you and Dad a gift so you may enjoy the Raiders even more.
