Welcome back to another episode of NHL Rumours! It’s the day after Thanksgiving, and there’s a lot to be thankful for. The Boston Bruins goaltenders are fantastic, William Nylander is having a career year, and Detroit’s Alex DeBrincat deal has paid off. However, it doesn’t mean the rumors have stopped spinning and the buzz has died. The Edmonton Oilers and the Philadelphia Flyers are the subjects of today’s rumors.

It appears to be a never-ending carousel, but the Edmonton Oilers will remain a focal point until things are resolved. They sacked the coach and demoted the goaltender, but nothing changed. In addition, the team was defeated 6-3 against the Carolina Hurricanes, and Stuart Skinner was removed after the first period. Something has to give, and Johnston outlines the possibilities.

Johnston is discussing internal remedies, which leads us back to Jack Campbell. Campbell has a 3.26 goals-against average and.873 save percentage since being sent to the minors. Despite the fact that he is coming off a shutout victory, he is now confident in himself.

If the club decides to bring him back up, he could be the spark plug they need. However, that is not the only option, and it should not be the only one. Bringing him back in the hopes of building on that win is beneficial in the near term. Furthermore, if this squad wants to compete farther and turn the ship around, other solutions must be sought.

Johnston has also stated that they are looking for alternatives but will not close.

The following set of NHL Rumours focuses on the Eastern Conference. The Flyers will be a shining spot in the NHL during the 2023-24 season. They are now fourth in the Metropolitan Division, six points behind the first-place Rangers. Having Sean Couturier back is a huge lift, and having significant rookies has helped this squad shine. Dreger, on the other hand, suggests that Daniel Briere may be open for business.

It remains to be seen whether the Flyers are a playoff team but not a title contender. However, the future seems bright for this club, and that doesn’t even take into account who is coming up through the pipeline. Briere’s willingness to listen does not imply that he will act.

Nick Seeler and Sean Walker are the defensemen. Both players can play significant minutes and average more than 15 minutes

of ice time every game. These are not awful players to inquire about for a competitive team looking for depth.Seeler is a shutdown defenseman who spends the most of his time in his own zone. He is a physical player who is willing to give up his body (49 blocked shots). Stay-at-home players have a place on the team, and he would be a welcome addition.

Walker provides a significant bump in productivity while also offering defensive assistance. He leads the Flyers’ defensemen in points (10) and has contributed 1.8 expected goals. He is also a physical presence who fits into the Flyers’ style of play. His age is a significant advantage because he is young and would fit into a team’s long-term goals.

The Flyers are clicking and playing solid hockey right now. There will be no fireworks, but with the team still rebuilding properly, anything is conceivable.
