Smith was chosen by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round (No. 215) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He made two starts in ten games as a rookie before being released before the 2023 season. Smith recently spent time on the practice squad of the Houston Texans.
Again, the Eagles appear to be looking for more OL depth, and Smith provides guard/center versatility.
The Eagles intended to replenish the pipeline at Jeff Stoutland University after losing three practice squad offensive lineman in recent weeks.
JENKINS, E.J.
The Eagles currently prefer Togiai’s ability to contribute in the short term over Jenkins’ long-term development potential. Jenkins was released after joining the Eagles’ practice squad on November 1.
