Nakobe Dean, the Philadelphia Eagles’ starting linebacker, is slated to be placed on injured reserve. This season, Dean has been dealing with a Lisfranc sprain.

He suffered the Lisfranc injury against the New England Patriots in Week 1. He was placed on injured reserve by Philadelphia and missed the next four weeks. In Week 6, Philadelphia activated him from injured reserve, and he played the final four games. Dean’s injury flared up again in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys.This season, Dean has 30 tackles, two tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and one quarterback hit.

Nakobe Dean, a five-star recruit, has committed to play college football for Georgia. Georgia was chosen over Ole Miss and Alabama. Dean battled injuries his rookie year but still played in every game, earning 25 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, two pass deflections and one forced fumble.
He was awarded to the National Football Foundation’s “Team of Distinction” in 2019. This award honours high school scholar-athletes for their community involvement as well as their athletic and academic performance.

Dean slid in the 2022 draft.

Dean suffered a pectoral injury while bench-pressing during Georgia’s Pro Day on March 16. The initial thought was that he sprained his pectoral. Many reporters assumed that he tore his pectoral muscle and needed surgery. Dean chose not to have surgery and was drafted as a result.

His size is another reason he was passed over in the draught. He stands 5’11” and weighs 231 pounds. His position averages 6’2 and 240 pounds. Dean is three inches shorter and nine pounds lighter.

Nakobe Dean was selected by Philadelphia in the third round, 83rd overall, in the 2022 NFL Draught.

Dean didn’t start in his rookie season.
