Here are the most recent pundit predictions as Newcastle United attempt to rebound from their loss to Borussia Dortmund when they travel to Wolves.

‘They were stunned by their defeat.’
“Wolves are a decent team and have had some good results this season, but I’m just going to pick Newcastle to win this one,” Paul Merson wrote for Sports Keeda, predicting a 2-1 triumph for the visitors. I was truly surprised by their loss to Borussia Dortmund; I expected them to blow the Bundesliga side out of the water.

“If Newcastle progress to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League and manage to sneak into the Premier League top four, I think that’ll count as a good season for them.”

Predicting a 1-1 draw, Mark Lawrenson wrote for Paddy Power: “Wolves are looking good, I wondered where the goals would come from. Slowly but surely they’re improving and they look difficult to beat. I’m going to go for a draw in this. This is a big test for Newcastle, going from a Champions League defeat to a tough away game.”

Predicting a 1-0 win for Newcastle, Chris Sutton wrote for BBC Sport: “This is not an easy one to call – Wolves have put together a four-game unbeaten run and Newcastle have got a few injuries to contend with, as well as Sandro Tonali’s ban for breaching betting rules.
