After Julius Randle took a heavy fall at the end of Game 2, the New York Knicks had an injury worry. Randle was still in the game even though the Knicks were down by 20 points or more, as was Jarrett Allen, who was called for a flagrant one foul. Randle left the game and returned to the locker room.
Randle labelled Allen’s foul “unnecessary” after the game, but Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff felt it wasn’t deserving of a flagrant penalty. Randle appeared to be alright after the game, which was good news for Knicks fans and Tom Thibodeau.
With Randle’s status still up in the air entering Game 1, he ended up playing and finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds. His efficiency was off in Games 1 and 2, and especially with Games 3 and 4 being at MSG, the Knicks are going to need the best of Randle.
Julius Randle isn’t on the injury report for New York. Unless there’s a change, he’ll play in Game 3.
