Nathan Dyer joined Leicester on loan from Swansea during the 2015/16 season, and was a part of the 5000/1 experience. He left Leicester with fond memories, returning to Swansea as Premier League champion, and that experience will, of course, be with him for the rest of his life.

He returned to Swansea and finished his career at The Liberty, making 281 league games and scoring 28 goals. At Leicester, he had 12 goals, including the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa.

He began his career at Southampton and lasted there from 2005 to 2009 before moving to Swansea, initially on loan and then permanently in the summer for a cost of £400,000.

He played for Brendan Rodgers at Swansea and became a fan favourite as the Welsh club made their way into the Premier League, contributing from his attacking position and having a solid relationship with the fans.

He became an essential squad player at Leicester, always humble and up to standard as Claudio Ranieri called on him when needed, being part of a really exceptional team of players, perhaps not as well remembered as others who went on to international glory.

It was a terrific season, and everyone who participated surely has fond recollections of it, even if they were not as involved as that unique group, which was selected practically every game played.

Leicester’s next Championship match, on October 21st, will be against Swansea. This will be the first meeting between the two since a 1-1 tie at King Power Stadium in the Premier League in 2018, with Nathan Dyer taking part and playing from the start, with Jamie Vardy scoring the opening goal after 17 minutes.
