SURPRISING NEWS FOR RANGERS…

According to Alan Nixon, Rangers are now close to appointing Belgian coach Philippe Clement as their new manager.

The newspaper journalist tweeted on his official Patreon account on October 13 that parameters and a budget would now be agreed upon and that an announcement might be made over the weekend.

Having met with the Rangers executives twice, Kevin Muscat, a different management candidate, is thought to have lost out to Clement due to the latter’s European heritage.

After 11 days since Michael Beale’s dismissal on October 1st, it appears as though Rangers have finally made progress in their managerial search and have chosen their preferred Michael Beale replacement at Ibrox.

If the team is to have any hope of success on the pitch, the next guy in the dugout must be there for the long run, and it appears that John Bennett and James Bisgrove have selected Clement to be that man.

The Belgian manager may be a mystery to the Ibrox faithful, but he has established a solid name in both France and his home nation, so taking a chance on him now could pay off handsomely in the long run.

It’s clear that the Belgian will be under pressure as soon as he enters the building, and it remains to be seen whether he can have the quick impact the team needs to get back on track.

The 49-year-old, who was fired by Monaco last summer for the team’s failure to advance to the Champions League, is undoubtedly a fascinating name, but he will seize the opportunity at Ibrox.

An appointment that should undoubtedly spark interest and excitement among Rangers supporters.
