Breaking News: Celtic board to hold talks as Israeli retaliation for Green Brigade’s support of Palestine

After the Green Brigade’s backing for Palestine sparked controversy in his country, Celtic met with Liel Abada in private.

Abada, who was injured, was seen at Parkhead on crutches on Monday and met with club representatives, but it is believed that he was unable to attend James Forrest’s testimonial banquet. Football Scotland has learned that the 22-year-old Israeli winger met with Hoops board members following their supporters’ display of support by flying Palestinian flags during their match against Kilmarnock. Abada is believed to have received assistance from the Celtic administration after receiving online hatred from his home nation.

Celtic supporters have frequently showed their support for the Palestinian cause during sporting events, but this past weekend in particular drew criticism after an intentional strike by Israel claimed the lives of more than 700 unarmed civilians.

The statement said, “We distance ourselves from banners exhibited in a portion of Celtic Park before to Saturday’s game since they do not represent the views of Celtic Football Club. We disapprove of the statements shown at Celtic Park.

Celtic is not a political group; it is a football club. Being inclusive of all people, regardless of race, colour, politics, or creed, has been one of our basic values from our founding. The Club has always been quite clear that political messages and banners are not permitted at Celtic Park or at any match involving Celtic because of this.

“It is wholly wrong for any group of people to utilise Celtic Park as a platform for such messages during a time of grief and suffering for many. Regardless of their own convictions, we urge all fans to come together to support our team and the club while also respecting the rights and ideologies of others, especially those whose lives have been negatively impacted by violence and intolerance.
