Indeed, the pundit has stated that Everton’s £20m player ‘ran the midfield’ as the Blues romped to a 3-0 victory at Goodison Park.

The Mali international took his tally to three Premier League goals so far this season and his display earned him a place in Alan Shearer’s Team of the Week

Writing in his weekly column on the Premier League website, Shearer said of the 30-year-old: “(Doucoure) Ran the midfield and got into the box to score, wrapping up a much-needed first home win for Everton.”

Doucoure has been in a fine run of form since Sean Dyche’s February appointment and now has eight goals under the Everton boss, more than any other player in the current squad.

Abdoulaye Doucoure himself recently spoke of his impressive form under Sean Dyche and believes he is playing the ‘best football’ of his career at the minute.

Speaking with the official Everton website after the Blues’ recent win at Brentford, Doucs said: “The manager [has been] very good to me and given me so much belief.

The staff all believe in me, and I think tonight was the perfect game for us, and the perfect plan.

I’m very happy with this manager and I think I’ve played my best football in my career with him, so I’m very grateful to him for letting me play and giving me freedom on the pitch, and I need to give something back.”

The 30-year-old has been instrumental for Sean Dyche of late, and if he continues at his current rate, there’s no reason why he can’t reach double figures for the season.

With the Merseyside derby coming up after the international break, Everton will be looking to Doucoure to continue his impressive run of form in front of goal.
