
Boly signed for Forest in the summer of 2022. He was a surprise addition to the ranks but since checking in his experience has been there for all to see at the City Ground.
The big challenge for Boly has been staying fit for a long period. Incidentally, the best football Forest player last season came when the 32-year-old had managed to stay fit.
The Athletic have taken stock of the season so far with the second international break curtailing the Premier League. It would seem that Oliver Kay has been very impressed with Boly.
He’s done what the other four writers didn’t and found room for a Forest player in his Team of the Season so far. Boly has got the nod, partnering Tottenham standout Mickey Van de Ven at centre-back.
It highlights just how impressive Boly has been this season. He’s played in all but one Forest’s games so far this season and only missed the 1-1 draw against Burnley.
Jamie Redknapp raved about Boly back in 2018. He called him a ‘warrior‘ for some heroic performances at centre-back for Wolves as they were establishing themselves as a top-flight outfit.
Keeping Boly fit this season is massively important. Steve Cooper clearly knows his importance as right now he’s keeping club captain Joe Worrall out of the Forest team.
Although Forest have signed a plethora of new players, it could be one of last season’s that proves most important in Boly. At 32-years-old, his experience is key and he still has plenty to offer.
Murillo has taken to life in the Premier League well in the last two games too. With the experience of Boly alongside him, Forest might have struck gold with the perfect balance at the heart of their defensive unit.
