After Brighton’s thumping, Unai Emery offers a double injury report for Aston Villa.

Unai Emery has provided an update on Moussa Diaby and Boubacar Kamara, who were substituted due to injury concerns during Arsenal’s 6-1 hammering of Brighton & Hove Albion.

After playing a major role in the historic triumph, it was unfortunate to see Diaby and Kamara go down with injuries, potentially putting a damper on an otherwise flawless afternoon.

When asked for an update in the post-match press conference, Emery said: “I think he [Diaby] has some pain but I think it’s not going to be relevant for the next matches.

Kamara, as well. Hopefully not important [serious]. We are hoping, but we have to check,” Emery continued.

Villa will be desperate for both players to bounce back quickly as the squad depth has been pushed to the limit in recent weeks by the forever-growing fixture congestion.

Emiliano Buendia and Tyrone Mings are both out for the season with serious knee problems, while Alex Moreno is close to a return but not quite up to fitness.

Diego Carlos is still getting up to speed despite being on the bench against Brighton, whereas Timothy Iroegbunam has only just returned to full training.
