Burnley’s interesting cup encounter against Sean Dyche will be pushed to the back of Vincent Kompany’s mind until the game.
When the Clarets travel to Goodison Park to face Everton at the end of October, they will be reunited with their former manager Sean Dyche.

It was their reward after a 4-0 third-round triumph against Salford City, while the Toffees defeated Aston Villa 2-1.

While there has been much of talk among fans about the “Sean Dyche derby,” Kompany’s immediate goal is this weekend’s return to league action.

“It’s a month from now but for the fans and for the players it’s always exciting to look forward to a cup run,” the manager of the Clarets stated.

“I’m sure stories will be written about the game at the time, but now the focus is on Newcastle.”

Burnley will be trying to advance further in the competition after reaching the last-16 for the second season in a row.

Kompany believes his side’s 4-0 win over Salford was a continuation of some improving league performances against the likes of Nottingham Forest and Manchester United.

“I think it’s just been a good set of performances over the last three or four games,” Kompany stated.

“We know that we were favourites, we had to win the game but it feels good to do the job.”

Kompany made 11 changes against League Two opponents, after making 10 against Forest in the previous round.
