Leeds United’s owners have been praised for their decision to hire manager Daniel Farke this summer.

Former owner Andrea Radrizzani and director of football Victor Orta made one of the club’s wisest decisions when they appointed Marcelo Bielsa as head coach. It was a game-changing move that brought Premier League football back to Leeds.

But, and here’s the kicker, the decision to let Bielsa go was not universally praised. Neither was the subsequent selection of Jesse Marsch or his short-term replacement Sam Allardyce, leaving the former owner on a sour note following some gaffes.

Getting a decision on the next manager was critical, especially with new ownership at the helm who required an early triumph in that regard, as well as a dependable figure to spearhead a push for an immediate return to the top flight. Former Leeds United assistant manager and Brighton and Sunderland manager Gus Poyet believes 49ers Enterprises made the right decision in appointing Daniel Farke as manager.

Poyet has cited 49ers Enterprises’ choice to hire Daniel Farke as one of the most notable decisions made by any football owner in the country this summer. That is a significant statement.

“I think Daniel Farke’s appointment by Leeds was the most ‘common-sense decision’ from any football owner in the summer!” Poyet explained to safebettingsites.com. “You are Leeds United Football Club, and you want to return to the Premier League right away, and there is a coach available who has been promoted twice from the Championship; it’s a simple decision.”

“It’s common sense, and all Leeds has to do now is work hard and achieve what Farke did with Norwich.” It won’t be easy, but Leeds have put themselves in a good position with Farke’s appointment.”

When asked if Leeds can reclaim their place in the Premier League this season, Poyet was equally upbeat: “Yes, I think so, they have enough in their squad and their manager to achieve that goal this season,” he continued. “I believe there was something missing at the start of the season, which is normal with a new coach and after being relegated from the Premier League.” It would have been disconcerting if they had a couple players who wanted to leave as well. However, I believe they have settled down and will be a very strong team in the division, and they should challenge to return to the Premier League.”
