Newcastle United’s hectic schedule continues with a match at St James’ Park against Burnley. Their return to Premier League action comes fewer than three days after theiraraba Co Cup success over Manchester City in midweek, and less than a week after the Magpies defeated Sheffield United by eight goals at Bramall Lane.

Meanwhile, Vincent Kompamny’s side is winless in their return to the Premier League, having been downed 1-0 by Manchester United in midweek. With a crucial Champions League encounter against PSG coming up next week, Howe will have enough of selection quandaries to deal with ahead of the visit of Burnley, as the necessity to balance domestic and European play grows by the week.
