The Rangers boss saw his side defeat Livingston 4-0 at Ibrox.
Rangers manager Michael Beale hailed a “good night” after his team defeated Livingston 4-0 at Ibrox to advance to the Viaplay Cup semi-finals.
After a promising start to the game, Abdallah Sima put the hosts ahead after 10 minutes in before Ridvan Yilmaz doubled the lead in the second half.
They finished the game with two quick goals in the closing 10 minutes, with Sima scoring off a deflection and Ryan Jack scoring in stoppage time.
Beale was delighted with his team’s performance after a dull 1-0 win against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.
“We won our third game in seven days, and we kept another clean sheet.”
“We won a third game in seven days, another clean sheet, we’re in a semi-final so it’s a good night for us,” he stated.
“We just stayed with the ball a little bit longer in the first half, we were a little bit more patient, I thought at times we could speed up a little bit, but our overall possession was much better than the weekend.”
“Abdallah showed the way with his running off the ball, we need to do a bit more of that and by the end of the game we did.”
Beale also gave an injury update on Yilmaz, who was replaced shortly after scoring, and Kemar Roofe, who was taken off at halftime.
He continued: “Ridvan was cramp and Kemar is a groyne problem so we’ll know more tomorrow.”
Rangers will now face Hearts in the semi-finals in November at Hampden Park.
Yilmaz’s fantastic solo effort in the second half was undoubtedly the best of the goals, as he made a terrific run down the centre of the pitch from his own half before shooting the ball into the bottom corner.
“(I’m) delighted for him because he’s had a rough first year and a bit to his Rangers career because he’s shown moments and flashes of why the club invested in him and why he was such a big talent in Turkey, in the national team so young,” he said.
“Hopefully that’s the start of him showing what he can do more regularly.”
Livingston were eliminated from the competition after their defeat, with Sima’s first-half goal sparking Rangers’ triumph.
