League Two clubs are limited to a 22-man roster, which does not include goalkeepers or outfield players under the age of 21 at the start of the calendar year, such as centre-back Max Cleworth.
Wrexham filed their squad list earlier this month, but wingers Bryce Hosannah and Callum McFadzean, as well as striker Billy Waters, were not included.
The trio are still practising with the Reds but are ineligible for loan moves and will only be able to play in cup games until clubs may modify their rosters when the January transfer market opens.
Hosannah only made eight league games last season due to injury, and his only appearance this season was as a substitute in the 5-3 defeat to MK Dons on the opening day before suffering another knock.
Parkinson revealed that McFadzean and Waters, who were both used infrequently before the squad list was posted, had several opportunities to depart The STióK Cae Ras before the transfer window ended.
The three players are unable to play in League Two games but have not been forgotten by the Reds’ manager.
“It’s not an ideal situation but their attitude has been great,” Parkinson stated.
“Unfortunately, rules are rules, and I must make decisions.”
“Bryce was injured just as the window closed, and we discussed a possible loan move for Callum a week or two before it closed.”
“However, Callum did not feel he was back where he wanted to be, and I agree with him because he is another one who has struggled.”
“There was an opportunity for Billy late in the window to possibly go somewhere, but it didn’t work out geographically.”
“It’s difficult because we’re bound by the Welsh FA’s loan rules, which are difficult for those lads.”
“All three of them have got to train really well and the aim is to push their way back into the squad come January.”
