Aston Villa claimed another fantastic Premier League victory, this time over Chelsea, defeating the Blues 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Indeed, Villa scored back-to-back away wins over Chelsea in consecutive seasons for the first time in the league since the 1930s, a rare performance.

Unai Emery was looking to bounce back from a Europa Conference League setback to Legia Warsaw, and a goal from Ollie Watkins sealed all three points with just under 20 minutes remaining.

It was his first Premier League goal of the season, and if he goes on another run this season similar to what he did after Christmas last season – scoring 13 goals in his final 23 league games – Villa will be challenging the top six.

How did Ollie Watkins fare against Chelsea?
Although Watkins had scored three goals prior to this match, they had all come in the Conference League qualifiers against Hibernian.

The striker had two assists before breaking his duck.

Along with his goal, Watkins produced one big chance, made one vital pass, and won 100% of his ground duels as he attempted to wreck havoc on the Chelsea defense.

It succeeded because he took his goal brilliantly, but the performance was a team effort, and one player shone out above all others: Boubacar Kamara.

Was Boubacar Kamara the best player for Aston Villa vs Chelsea?
Emery used a 4-2-3-1 formation, and it appeared to work, with Kamara and Douglas Luiz controlling the game from the center of the midfield.
