The midfielder has been out since the summer with a foot ailment, according to the most recent Aston Villa news.
Aston Villa have received an injury boost, as midfielder Jacob Ramsey was spotted in training ahead of the Europa Conference League match against Legia Warsaw.
After breaking his metatarsal while on international duty with England U21s during their victorious European Championships campaign this summer, the Villa academy graduate is yet to make an appearance this season. Ramsey played in every game until the quarter-finals, when he was injured.
The 22-year-old appears to be on his way back to action, which would be a huge boost for Unai Emery’s side. Ramsey has been spotted out on the grass again as Villa make final preparations for their trip to Poland on Wednesday.
Villa simply captioned a photo of Ramsey participating in training on X (previously Twitter): “Good afternoon.” Fans on social media reacted positively to that statement.
Ramsey was a vital player for Villa last season, appearing 38 times across all competitions. In 25 Premier League games in 2022/23, the midfielder scored six goals and gave seven assists, including two assists in the critical 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on the last day.
Ramsey may find the game against Legia Warsaw too soon, as he attempts to improve his fitness after missing pre-season due to injury. The Villa midfielder might want to make his comeback against Everton in the Carabao Cup third round.
The Toffees visit Villa Park in the FA Cup on Wednesday, September 27th, with kick-off at 7.45pm. The match is sandwiched between Premier League games against Chelsea (24 September) and Brighton (30 September).
