‘Brilliant’ 22-year-old midfielder signed contract with celtic till…

According to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph, Celtic are about to extend a new deal to Matt O’Riley.

Leeds United made a £10 million offer for the 22-year-old midfielder this summer, but Celtic turned it down.
And now, in an effort to fend off any potential suitors, Joseph claims that O’Riley will soon be presented with a new contract that has better terms during the international break.

Joseph stated on social media outlet X that Celtic are anticipated to extend and increase Matt O’Riley’s contract terms.

“Leeds United made a £10 million offer for the 22-year-old. Celtic turned it down and are now hoping to sign him to a new contract during this break for international play.

Otiley joined Celtic in the January 2022 transfer window and made his Tynecastle debut in the 2-1 away victory over Hearts.

With an assist, he had an immediate effect, and the talented midfielder hasn’t looked back since.
O’Riley has made 77 appearances for the team, making ten goals and 18 assists. But throughout the course of his two seasons at the club, his versatility has shown to be essential.

Callum McGregor was out with an injury, so O’Riley filled in for him in 2022 as the Hoops captain recovered from a fractured cheekbone. He filled the same position when McGregor’s knee injury sidelined him for more than three months the following season.Manchester United scouting Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley

O’Riley also shone in Sunday’s 1-0 Glasgow Derby victory over Rangers at Ibrox.

Brendan Rodgers wants to keep dominating Scottish football, thus the club is now looking to sign one of their greatest players.

‘I’ve got to say,’ Ally McCoist says of a 30-year-old Celtic player against Rangers, “he was brilliant.”
