The Millers are in charge of signing the striker, who scored 17 goals for the Greek side last season.

Rotherham director and former Exeter director Matt Taylor brought Nombe to Exeter from MK Dons in the summer of 2021.
Yorkshire rival Barnsley also liked Nombe, but has now settled elsewhere. At the end of last week, Birmingham and Wrexham were also said to have turned a profit.
Speaking after Exeter’s draw with Stevenage in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, Caldwell confirmed that “several offers” had been accepted.

“Sam is talking to other clubs and we’ll have to wait and see what happens,” he said. “There is no definitive movement yet. He is talking to other clubs and we have accepted several offers and I am sure there will be more information on that tomorrow (Wednesday).
The Millers chief is targeting three signings in the final week of the transfer window, while a number of fringe players could also leave the club.

Striker Josh Kayode is Barnsley’s target but has the interest of opponents in the lower division.

Talking about his transfer plans after Saturday’s game against Leicester, Taylor said:
“This is an important week for us. We cannot hide this fact.

“I think there will be players leaving, maybe on loan, maybe on permanent contracts.
“We are trying to free up money and we will be as aggressive as the team that played on Saturday:
Stay ahead and bring our best deals to everyone. We’ll see where that takes us.

“I would love to have three more bodies before the Norwich game

The deal is worth £1 million. Nombe has signed a four-year deal with the Millers, who signed midfielder Christ Tiehi earlier this month for between £400,000 and £500,000.

The move sees Nombe, 24, reunited with Millers boss and former Exeter manager Matt Taylor, who brought him to Devon from MK Dons in the summer of 2021.
The future of Nombe, who scored 17 goals for the Greek side last season, has been the subject of much speculation throughout the season.
