What Middlesbrough allegedly accomplished during the summer transfer window, according to Michael Carrick

This summer, Middlesbrough acquired 12 new players to their roster.

Michael Carrick has given his assessment of Middlesbrough’s successful summer transfer window, saying that the squad’s added balance is what he is most pleased with.

While the summer transfer window was not always simple for Boro because they narrowly missed Premier League promotion last season and lost six loanees as a result, they managed to add left-back Alex Bangura from SC Cambuur on transfer deadline day to bring their total number of new hires for the summer to 12.

It goes without saying that the team’s attacking reinforcements were reduced as important loan deals came to an end. Additionally, Chuba Akpom’s contract status put the team in a tough predicament, forcing them to decide to sell the 29-goal forward to Ajax rather than risk losing him for free in the upcoming summer.

And while it makes Boro’s team appear weaker than it did last season, at least on paper, Carrick is satisfied with the fact that they now have more balance and flexibility, which allows him to be more flexible than he was tactically last year.

Jeremy Sivi of Middlesbrough completes his loan to Harrogate Town in a last-minute agreement.

Additionally, Carrick emphasized the fact that they had decreased the average age of the squad and added a number of future assets to the squad as his primary strengths, along with their knowledge of the club’s financial situation and the need for a strategy that looked to the future.
Carrick responded, “I’m really happy with the work that we’ve done throughout the window,” when asked what he thought of the summer transfer window. I’m quite interested to see both what the boys can contribute individually and collectively.

“I’m pretty pleased with the squad as it stands right now, and I believe we have a great team and set of players. Importantly, the group has a solid balance as well. In terms of looking at the next stage and chapter of their careers and coming here to develop and advance, we’ve brought in a number of good players, many of them are also at a very nice age.

We can play in a variety of ways, and each member of the team has various skills that help us do that. So as the season goes on, I’m really looking forward to seeing us improve.
