In what will likely be our last article when it comes to Wolverhampton Wanderers and their signing of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, the fee the Premier League club are paying has been revealed.

The latest update from France was that an agreement had been found between Wolves and Strasbourg, but no numbers were given.

Well, Alsa’Sports rectify that on Friday, reminding everyone that the player had an exit pass granted to him by the club as long as they received €10m for him.

The website reveal that Wolves actually paid that and more, as they put €15m on the table to convince Strasbourg to let their star go.

This is corroborated by Santi Aouna for Foot Mercato, who claims the deal is ‘around €16m’, and the player could pass his medical in France before travelling to England.

Their bank account was a little bit flusher than expected after the sale of Matheus Nunes to Manchester City, and it seems they put that money to good use to get a transfer over the line.

Bellegarde is now expected to sign a five-year contract at Molineux, where he is likely to quickly become a very important part of Gary O’Neil’s squad.

Wolves will especially want him to continue his early season form, as he has two goals and two assists in three league games to date for Strasbourg.

Wolves ‘agree deal’ for €15m Nunes replacement but second transfer for striker target collapses

Wolves are in for a frantic end to the transfer window and reports suggest that they are on the verge of signing a new midfielder to replace Matheus Nunes.

Gary O’Neil is also looking to bring in a new striker, with Che Adams thought to be his top target. The deal with Southampton, however, now appears to be off.

As a result, the Midlands club may have to focus on alternatives as they look to bring in competition for Matheus Cunha, Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva.

One of O’Neil’s biggest priorities, though, is signing a new centre-mid, after Nunes joined Manchester City for £53m earlier today.

Fulham’s Harrison Reed is one potential option. Everton are also interested in the 28-year-old, but the Liverpool Echo claim that Wolves are the team leading the race for his signature.

A separate report from Sky Sports claims, however, that Wolves have agreed a ‘deal in principle’ to sign Strasbourg midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde. TEAMtalk understands that the fee is €15m (£12.8m).

The club’s representatives are now set to fly to France to finalise the deal, so it appears that Wolves will get at least one more player through the door before the 11pm deadline.

Wolves’ Adams deal ‘currently off’

While Wolves are making good progress on the midfielder front, their reported loan move for Adams has reportedly collapsed.

That is according to reputed transfer journalist David Onstein. On Twitter, Ornstein wrote: “Southampton have blocked proposed Che Adams transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

“The 27-year-old Scotland striker was due to extend his Saints contract and go on loan with £15m buy option that could become obligation. Deal currently off.”
