Our live feed has now finished.
- Flynn hopeful of three new signings through the door today.
- Stay tuned for live transfer updates on Town and the rest of League Two.
Well, that brings an end to our live blog, it looks like it’s no signings announced today!
How fitting it would be for all three signings to be announced as soon as I close this down. Ha.
For those who tuned in, thank you!

Jonny is back tomorrow, and I believe he will be speaking to Flynn too – so some light should be shed on the mysterious three signings.

Not going to happen now is it, all hype???
My optimism is rapidly fading by the minute.
I have, at last, some League Two transfer activity for you.
Unfortunately, it’s not Swindon (shock).
Colchester have signed goalkeeper Tom Smith on a permenant deal, following his loan spell last season.
Seen a few comments about the future of Conor Brann…
Here’s what he said to Jonny Leighfield earlier in the month about wanting to play more in 2023/24.

Well, it’s gone 4pm. It usually starts to liven up from now, so fingers crossed everyone.
Here’s our assessment of Town’s current squad heading into the 2023/24 campaign.

Not transfer related, but it should come of interest.
You can expect there to be a LOT more added time in League Two fixtures from next season onwards.
English Football League referees will adopt new regulations to avoid time wasting by adding the exact time lost in goal celebrations, substitutions or injuries.
If you remember how lengthy stoppage time was in the Qatar World Cup, you can expect similar at the County Ground…

Perhaps they want to announce all 3 at once. Am I right in thinking that the transfer window doesn’t close until the end of August ?
Correct, the window closes on September 1st.
So Town do have time to bring in who they need, but I’m sure Flynn doesn’t want to be travelling to Colchester with 16 fit first-team players.
All quiet from SN1 so far, they do usually like to announce things from 4pm onwards, though.
Meanwhile, take a look at what Flynn had to say following his sides 3-1 win over Plymouth Argyle in their final pre-season friendly.

It would be a shame to loose Lavinier, but understand that its either that or let tribunal set the fee or pay compo to FRG, which unfortunately we do not seem keen on doing.
I must admit, Flynn’s facial expression when asked about Lavinier was rather odd. Almost like he wasn’t sure on what could be said… Worth noting that Lavinier was at the game on Saturday.
No transfer news as of yet, but I will speaking to Town’s Head of Football, Jamie Russell, later today.
If you have any questions you’d like me to ask him, fire away in the comments!
This weekend’s oppenents Colchester United, managed by former Town boss Ben Garner, are still aiming to bolster their squad with ‘one or two players’ before the transfer deadline – as reported by the Colchester Gazette.
Garner brought in ex-Town player Ellis Iandolo earlier in the summer.

Not sure that Flynn fancies him otherwise that deal would have been done a while ago.
Here’s what Flynn had to say when asked about LW:
“I’m not going to speak about Lewis [Ward] just like the other trialists. The only thing I will say is it hasn’t been going on that long [his time at the club] because I wasn’t here before, so it’s a completely different story. What one man thought about him doesn’t mean I’m going to agree with it or disagree with it, so let’s see.”
It’s just five days until Town kick off their League Two campaign against Colchester United, and manager Flynn only has 16 first-team players in his ranks.
That number is expected to rise come August 5th, but how confident are you currently heading into the new season?

Fingers crossed
It’s Swindon Town, so who knows what to expect!
Flynn clearly wants the three players in quickly so they can settle in ahead of Col U next Saturday. Let’s see what happens.
Hello and welcome!
Town boss Michael Flynn said on Saturday he was hopeful of three new signings being done by today.
