‘Juicy contract’: in place for target who ‘will play’ for Aston Villa, 17-goal midfielder set for medical.
The latest updates on Aston Villa’s transfer window links.
Aston Villa have had something of a quiet transfer window so far compared to other teams in the Premier League but they’ve still recruited some important new players. They’ve splashed the cash on Pau Torres and Moussa Diaby and also signed Youri Tielemans on a free deal.
Unai Emery and his side also remain linked to other potential targets as they look to boost their chances of climbing the table this season. Here’s a look at some of the latest transfer headlines linked to Villa.
Left-back target ‘will play’ for Aston Villa
Villa are edging closer to securing the signing of Marcos Acuña from Sevilla. There have been a good few updates this week on the potential move after club president Pepe Castro admitted his side are in talks over agreeing terms with the Premier League outfit.
Spanish outlet AS have since reported that Villa have tabled a ‘juicy contract’ to try and get a deal over the line for Acuña (via Sport Witness). TYC Sports journalist César Luis Merl also followed up with a post on Twitter, stating that the left-back ‘will play’ for Villa and that there is ‘already an agreement’ in place for a contract until 2026. Sevilla have reportedly accepted that Acuña’s departure is imminent.
17-goal midfielder set to undergo medical
Nicolò Zaniolo is set to undergo a medical at Aston Villa as he prepares to complete a loan move to England from Galatasaray. According to Aksam, the Italian midfielder arrived yesterday evening and pending health checks, he is due to be announced by the club, with an option to buy clause in his contract.
Zaniolo only joined Galatasaray in February but he’s already made an impact. He signed from AS Roma and clocked up a total of seven goals and four assists last season across all competitions with both clubs.
