Manchester United target and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is attracting interest from Premier league rivals Liverpool, according to AD via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The Merseyside outfit are considering acquiring the services of the Morocco international in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, they have gathered information regarding the midfielder’s situation this summer.

However, the Anfield side are yet to make a formal proposal to get a hold of his signature. As things stand, Jurgen Klopp’s team have only gotten in touch to know about the conditions of a potential deal.

Liverpool have not made a decision yet on the 26-year-old. At the moment, the Merseyside outfit are still exploring the market for a new defensive midfielder to bolster their ranks.

United also have Amrabat on their radar, as per Italian outfit La Repubblica. However, now, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will have to compete with the Anfield side for his signature. Klopp’s team arguably needs a new number six after the departure of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi Arabia.

In the last year, the Moroccan has caught a lot of people’s attention. During the 2022 World Cup, the midfielder put in some inspiring displays as the Atlas Lions made it to the semi-finals in Qatar.

The 2022/23 term also saw Amrabat showcase his capabilities for Fiorentina. The Florence-based club made it to the finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, with the Moroccan playing a key role.

At United, Erik ten Hag has added a number of stars in the middle of the park since last summer. Mason Mount made his way to the Old Trafford side from Chelsea recentlyHarry Maguire, Jadon Sancho and the 12 players Man Utd must sell this summer to pay for a new striker | Goal.com US

However, what we seemingly lack is depth in the number six position. While Casemiro has been brilliant since joining from Real Madrid, the Red Devils struggled to get positive results in his absence in the previous campaign.

Therefore, United could evidently do with a player like Ambrabat in their ranks. Ten Hag is also familiar with the Moroccan, having worked with him at Utrecht

Bayern Munich have former Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea as an alternative on their shortlist this summer, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.

A few weeks back, the Spaniard was not one of the names that was being considered heavily by the Bavarians. However, after missing out on Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has joined Real Madrid on loan, the Bundesliga giants got in touch with the 32-year-old

De Gea is open to a move to the Allianz Arena side in the ongoing transfer window. Thomas Tuchel’s team will not have any difficulty accepting personal terms with the veteran goalkeeper.

However, Manchester City shot-stopper Stefan Ortega is Bayern’s priority at the moment. The Bavarians are interested in acquiring the services of the Sky Blues’ number two. But if the German outfit are unable to get a deal done for the 30-year-old, then the ex-Red Devil could be finalised by them.

As things stand, Manuel Neuer is on the sidelines for the Bundesliga giants. The Germany international picked up an injury after the 2022 World Cup.

Subsequently, in January, Bayern signed Yann Sommer from Borussia Monchengladbach. However, the Swiss national was sold to Inter Milan recently.

United had signed De Gea in the summer of 2011 from Atletico Madrid. Over the years, the veteran goalkeeper established himself as one of the best in between the sticks.

Unfortunately, the Spaniard had a difficult period for a few years in between at the Old Trafford side. Last season, while he was Erik ten Hag’s first choice, the shot-stopper left a lot to be desired at times.

The Red Devils now have Andre Onana in their ranks. It remains to be seen what the future holds for De Gea in the coming weeks.LFC Transfer Room on Twitter: "Sofyan Amrabat seems to be heading out of Fiorentina THIS January, after his impressive performances in the World Cup ✓ Tottenham, Atlético Madrid, and LIVERPOOL are pushing
