Kelechi Iheanacho is a name that was heavily linked with Nottingham Forest back at the start of the window, but as of late, the rumours have gone quiet.

The 26-year-old striker has played in the Premier League his entire career but finds himself in the Championship with Leicester City this campaign.

Nigerian Iheanacho scored eight times in 35 appearances for the Foxes last season, with most of his game time coming off the substitutes bench.

Although he’s only ever achieved double figures in the Premier League once, the ‘talented‘ striker has always contributed with key goals, with his all-round game adding more than just the final product.

Even though Enzo Maresca’s side took on a lower-league side in Burton Albion, his performance last night highlighted the ability Iheanacho has in terms of finishing, movement and link-up play.

The main thing the former Manchester City striker will bring is needed Premier League experience to the Forest frontline.

Iheanacho has played 196 times in the top flight over the last eight seasons, scoring 42, working out at an average of a goal every 4.6 games.

Not bad for a player who usually features as an impact sub.

The Nigerian international also has great hold-up ability or the option to get in behind the opposition defence, with his turn of pace.
