NEWS UPDAT: WEST BROM’S ALEX MOWATT DELIGHTED WITH LEEDS UNITED’S TRANSFER CALL.
Alex Mowatt has expressed his delight on Instagram after his old pal Sam Byram re-signed for Championship promotion hopefuls, Leeds United.
After leaving Norwich City on a free-transfer this summer, Leeds United snapped up Sam Byram’s talents ahead of their opening Championship game against Cardiff City on Sunday.
The 29-year-old, who played under manager Daniel Farke at Carrow Road, has signed a one-year contract, as posted by the club’s official website.
It means that he returns to familiar ground, a place where his footballing journey started, seven years after leaving.
Luke Ayling is the senior right-back at the club, but he now has some much-needed competition after his own struggles last time out.
Nonetheless, when Byram posted on Instagram that he is ‘delighted’ to play for this ‘special club again’, he received a number of warm messages in the comments section from his fellow professionals, including from West Brom midfielder, Alex Mowatt.
‘Love it you,’ wrote Mowatt. ’25 again’, he added, whilst Robert Snodgrass told him ‘congrats, pal’ and Archie Gray added ‘what a man’.

Back in 2016, Byram left Elland Road for what he had hoped to be bigger and better things.
But in truth, it just hasn’t panned out the way he would have liked, that’s why he is on a free and that’s why he has only been handed a one-year deal.
The key thing here is that Farke knows the player well and it should help him settle in quicker because Leeds can’t afford to slack.
