Nottingham Forest are looking to rival Wolves in a bid to sign West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell

 according to Alan Nixon.

The newspaper journalist reported on his Patreon on 6 August that Forest are eyeing a move for the 33-year-old after a move for Tottenham left-back Ryan Sessegnon collapsed when he picked up an injury.

He said Cresswell is currently training away from the rest of the squad after Wolves failed to agree to sign him, with the Hammers looking for a fee above the £2.5million that was offered as well as a guaranteed sum rather than add on

Get it done

It’s sad to see Cresswell’s time at the London Stadium coming to what looks to be a fairly sour ending after he’s spent nine years at the club since signing from Ipswich Town in 2014.

While the Hammers have given a lot to him during that period, with him earning international recognition a few years back for England, he has also been a major contributor to some of the club’s biggest successes during his time in East London.

It appears as though the left-back really wants to move on and that could be down to his game time being slightly reduced as well as him being overlooked for the Europa Conference League final victory over Fiorentina.

The club seem fairly willing to let him move on now and it’s a shame because he does still have something to offer on and off the pitch with his leadership.

But if he doesn’t want to be here, then it’s best to get it sorted as soon as possible and look to bring someone else in to fight with Emerson for a starting place.Aaron Cresswell: the player who 2.14m managers root for each week

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have agreed terms with a new midfielder and made an offer to his club.
