GOOD NEWS: injury front, 4 players upgraded to active roster ahead of next matchup

Earlier this week, New Orleans Saints coach Dennis Allen said he believed several key players were on their way back from injuries, and things have continued to trend in that direction.

Receiver Chris Olave (concussion), right guard Cesar Ruiz (knee), tight end Taysom Hill (rib) and center Connor McGovern (back) were all upgraded to full participant status on Thursday’s injury report.

Olave, Ruiz and Hill have all missed varying amounts of time with their respective injuries. All now appear to be on track to be back on the field for the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Wide receiver Cedrick Wilson (hip) is the only player who was downgraded on Thursday’s report, as the veteran wideout missed Thursday’s session after being limited Wednesday.

The rest of the report remained unchanged: Quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) and guard Nick Saldiveri (shoulder) continued to miss practice, while guard Lucas Patrick (chest), linebacker Pete Werner (hamstring), defensive tackle Khalen Saunders (back), running back Alvin Kamara (hand/rib) and tight end Juwan Johnson (shoulder) were limited.

Quarterback Spencer Rattler (hip) and defensive back Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) were full participants for the second straight day.
