In a recent legal confrontation, Antony Santos, the Manchester United striker, faces allegations of assault from his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin. The Brazilian footballer has purportedly been interrogated by Brazilian authorities following the accusations.
A well-known DJ and influencer, Cavallin previously shared a committed relationship with Santos, spanning two years. She cohabitated with him during his tenure with Dutch Eredivisie team Ajax in Amsterdam, and later relocated to Manchester upon Santos’s transfer to United in 2022.
Revelations about the Alleged Assaults Police documents examined by ESPN reveal the first reported assault occurring in a Sao Paulo nightclub in July 2022. Cavallin was 17 weeks pregnant with Santos’s child at the time. The pair allegedly quarreled, leading to the dissolution of their relationship. Cavallin alleges Santos reacted violently, dragging her by the hair and arm out of the club and forcing her into a car.

Having returned to Brazil, Cavallin alleges she is receiving threats from Santos, prompting her to seek protective measures from the police.
Santos Responds Publicly on Social Media Santos broke his silence on Instagram, addressing his fans three weeks after the initial complaint was lodged with Sao Paulo police. The Manchester United star acknowledged being questioned by authorities, and chose to go public after his official statement.
He wrote on Instagram stories: “To friends, fans, and followers, after giving my statement at the police station where the investigation involving my name is being conducted, I would like to speak publicly for the first time since I was falsely accused of assault.”
Claiming that the accusations have caused distress for him and his family, Santos asserted that he refrained from public comment to avoid hindering the investigation.
Born in an underprivileged community, Santos said, “I had never been through a situation similar to this one, in which a false accusation of assault generated a prior and unfair public judgement by some people.”
Expressing faith in his impending vindication, Santos hoped “justice will prevail” and that the allegations’ impact on his reputation will fade. He thanked his supporters for their encouragement during the ordeal.
Police are currently investigating potential charges of domestic violence, threats, and bodily harm against Santos. While it remains uncertain if formal charges have been filed, Manchester United has yet to comment on the matter
