Wolves’ latest sale considered a big boost for player – who is set to replace Raul Jimenez’s at Wolverhampton Now set to be central figure under Lopetegui

Raul Jimenez’s move to Fulham is being seen as a boost for striker Sasa Kalajdzic, who is set to replace the Mexican at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Laola 1 cover the situation around the Austrian striker today after Jimenez completed a move to Fulham and brought his time at Molineux to an end.

He’s joined Marco Silva’s side on a deal until 2025, becoming the latest player to exit Wolves this summer as part of their rebuild under Lopetegui.

All indications are that there is not a lot of money to be spent on a replacement but that’s seen as good news for Kalajdzic.

He joined Wolves in an €18m deal from VfB Stuttgart last summer but only managed one 45-minute appearance against Southampton at the beginning of the campaign after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture.

That kept him out for the entirety of last season, spending 274 days on the treatment table and missing 37 games of the campaign in total.

He’s currently battling back and is very much ‘on his way to a comeback’ at the club and Jimenez’s departure could give him his opportunity to impress as he’s ‘losing a direct competitor’ for a regular place up front.Saša Kalajdžić of VfB Stuttgart has become a possibility for Manchester United this summer – MUFCLatest.com

Indeed, there is a belief that he is set to become a ‘central figure’ under Lopetegui next season as the Spaniard works with what he has rather than signs new players.
