BREAKING NEWS: Kieran McKenna signs 5years contract with Manchester United worth £270m….

In light of Manchester United’s interest in potentially bringing him back to Old Trafford, Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has already acknowledged that he could “see a future” for himself there.

The Northern Irishman is of interest to United, as the club’s management continues to discuss changing the dugout, according to reports from the Manchester Evening News. After the team finished the Premier League with its lowest-ever result this season, Erik ten Hag is under a lot of pressure.

In December 2021, McKenna departed from Old Trafford to assume his first managerial position. During his first two full seasons in command, he has led Ipswich to consecutive promotions, making a tremendous success of his tenure there thus far.

Having left League One at the end of their four-year tenure, Ipswich made a quick getaway this season, winning the second automatic promotion place. They trailed champion Leicester City by just one point at the end.

McKenna is currently one of the most sought-after managers in English football as a result. The 38-year-old, who spent five years working his way up through the ranks as a coach at Old Trafford, is reportedly attracting interest from Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea, and United.

Although McKenna was naturally drawn to his first managerial position at Ipswich, he made it clear when he joined the Portman Road team that he still felt he had a road to advancement at Old Trafford.

“It’s an amazing club to work for,” McKenna declared in a December 2021 speech. “There, I was content.

“I saw a future there [at United], but I’ve always wanted to become a manager—even before I started coaching.” I knew about the club’s history and traditions when I first got in touch with it because it was based in Ipswich.

Under McKenna’s direction, Ipswich has advanced significantly in a short amount of time with the correct framework in place. Next season, they will participate in the Premier League for the first time since 2002.
