A reputable journalist named Luke Edwards has provided an update, indicating that Newcastle United is striving to finalize the signing of a “exceptional” Premier League player this summer.

News about transfers to Newcastle
The Magpies are still rumored to be adding players during the summer transfer window as Eddie Howe’s team looks to step it up following a lackluster overall season at St James’ Park.

Giorgi Mamardashvili, a goalkeeper for Valencia, is one player who has been tipped to sign a contract with Newcastle, should they feel the need to replace Nick Pope at the end of the season, or at the very least, give him stiff competition.

On the opposite side of the field, Youssef En-Nesyri, an attacker for Sevilla, has surfaced as a possible target for the Magpies, with West Ham also having a chance to sign him. This season, he has made 26 starts in La Liga and scored 15 goals, demonstrating the caliber of playmaker he may be for Howe’s squad.

In order to compensate for the loss of Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles, who have been out for a long time, a new center-back may also be needed. Fulham star Tosin Adarabioyo may potentially be able to join on a free transfer from the Cottagers this season. But Manchester United is also vying for him, so Newcastle’s chances of landing their target may be slim.

Newcastle wants to bring in a “exceptional” player.
The Telegraph’s Edwards claims that Aaron Ramsdale, a goalkeeper for Arsenal, is poised to quit the team this summer and that Newcastle wants to sign him.

The Englishman is reportedly being pursued by the Magpies, who are “pushing ahead with a deal” worth £15 million ahead of a “busy summer of ins and outs at St James’ Park.”

Given Ramsdale’s current circumstances at Arsenal, Newcastle has been eyeing him for some time now, so this could be a match made in heaven. With Mikel Arteta favoring David Raya in goal, the England international has only started six Premier League games this year. Being on the bench as a substitute is by no means a good circumstance for someone hoping to compete in the European Championship this summer.

Even if the £120,000-per-week star is going through a difficult time, the Magpies would still benefit much from having him, especially when it comes to playing the ball out from the back. He might even be an improvement over Pope. In the past, Arteta has also showered his “keeper” with adulation, saying:

“He’s been amazing everywhere with the circumstances. similar to everyone. Definitely, we adore him more. He is with us every day. We are quite glad to have him because we know him and his character. Since I signed Aaron Ramsdale while everyone else was dubious about the move, I don’t think I should be the one to respond to inquiries on his caliber.”
