The aim is that the new addition from Las Vegas Raiders may possibly start at quarterback for them in 2024, as they have dominated the Denver Broncos in recent years.
In the AFC West, the Las Vegas Raiders have struggled against teams in most of the division. But in terms of the Denver Broncos, the Raiders have had the upper hand over the past several seasons; this trend must continue in 2024 if the team hopes to make the playoffs.
The quarterback position is one obvious position group on the Broncos squad that requires a significant upgrading. Currently scattered over the roster are Jarrett Stidham and Ben Dinucci, but this week they took a step to try to strengthen their squad at the most crucial position in sports.
ESPN’s Ian Rapoport announced via Twitter on Monday that a former No. 4 overall pick was acquired by the Denver Broncos.Zach Wilson as the Broncos’ quarterback would be advantageous for the Raiders.
Many mock drafts have the Broncos selecting a quarterback in the top six with their first-round pick in 2024, so they should be able to add a quarterback early in the draft. Zach Wilson was acquired by the team on Monday in exchange for two late-2024 draft selections. Wilson was selected by the New York Jets with the No. 4 overall choice in the 2021 draft.
Wilson never really made an impact with the Jets, and his skills were no longer required once Aaron Rodgers was added to the team in the summer. Wilson was gifted with extraordinary talent, but his skill set did not transfer to the professional game, and as a result, he had a lacklustre career in New York.
With Wilson, Stidham, and Dinucci at quarterback, Denver would have the weakest quarterback room in the league when the 2024 NFL season begins. With Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew II, two competent quarterbacks already on the roster, plus the chance to add another in the early NFL Draft, Las Vegas’ quarterback position will be far stronger than Denver’s in 2024.
