Levi Wallace, a former cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has joined a new squad.
Pittsburgh Cornerback Levi Wallace was not re-signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, but he found a new team that plans to use him as a key component of their secondary in 2024.
After visiting the team’s facility and speaking with them this week, Wallace, who played for the Steelers for two seasons, inked a contract with the Denver Broncos, as per a report by NFL insider Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. Early in the morning, word spread about Wallace’s visit, and hours later, the report he had signed became public.
In his 31 appearances as a starter, Wallace amassed 86 tackles and six interceptions while playing for Pittsburgh. Prior to being forced to the bench due to injuries and the rise of rookie sensation Joey Porter Jr., he started the most of the 2022 and 2023 seasons. The Steelers are prepared to bolster their secondary with further picks in the NFL Draft after acquiring Donte Jackson from the Carolina Panthers via the trade market.
Wallace is expected to at least contend for a starting position in the Broncos’ youthful and thin cornerback group this next season.
