According to reports, Aston Villa is preparing a possible deal for Marc Cucurella of Chelsea, who has previously attracted Pep Guardiola’s attention.

With two games remaining, Unai Emery’s team is presently six points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League standings and on track to finish in the Champions League spots.

Villa supporters will undoubtedly be thrilled with their team’s performances and hopeful about their future, especially since they have a Europa League semi-final in store for them.

For the Spanish manager, the outcome of this summer’s transfer window will undoubtedly determine their ability to compete at the top level in Europe.

Aston Villa is reportedly considering a deal for Cucurella, a former Manchester City target who has failed since moving to Chelsea from Brighton, according to sources from Team Talk.

The Spanish full-back failed to live up to the high price tag after moving to London in 2022 in a transaction reportedly worth £65 million.

It is reasonable to assume that Mauricio Pochettino would be willing to let him go given his meagre 14 Premier League appearances thus far this season, particularly given the squad’s already excessive size.

However, a trade won’t be cheap for Aston Villa because of the hefty original transfer fee and the length of his contract (2028).
