Freeman was a standout football player at the University of Oregon during his time as a student-athlete. The former third-round selection of the Denver Broncos is currently in his seventh season on his sixth team, demonstrating that his success hasn’t exactly translated into a consistent job in the NFL.

During his NFL career, he has been used infrequently and has only tallied 471 rushing attempts, or 78.5 carries per season. Everywhere he has been, he has played a complimentary role and has never been the centre of attention for an offence.

possesses exceptional field vision and an instinct for halting progress in front of him.
seasoned presence, “pros-pro” who can enter the room and assist the less experienced individuals.
Can handle a lot of weight when necessary, and he ought to be physically strong.

The shortcomings of Freeman
He’s not the slowest on his feet, but he’s also not the most evasive across wide areas.
occasionally lets himself get pulled down and doesn’t always use his size to his advantage.
I’m going to have to work hard and not always be able to make the big play.
Pass protection has improved, but it hasn’t been consistent since his college days.
Insufficient output or durability during his NFL tenure.
Not considered an RB1 in any institution,

In conclusion, the Cowboys did not make the best signing possible in Freeman. It won’t blow you away, but even though the fans don’t notice it yet, the Cowboys might see something here that could benefit them this season.

This year, he shouldn’t be the team’s top running back. It also shouldn’t be a major concern if he is part of a rotation where other players also get touches. The veteran, who has been on successful teams in the past, is added for a very small financial investment.

If Freeman still has juice, the team hopes he can contribute, and if not, they just let him go. If not, he will report to camp to compete. No offence, no hurt. Right now, we are in that stage of free agency.
