URGENT TRANSFER: A striker dubbed next Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ on the move

According to reports, Newcastle United is increasing their interest in Benjamin Sesko, a striker for RB Leipzig who has been called “the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”

The 20-year-old Slovenian, who joined the Bundesliga team from Red Bull Salzburg last summer, has drawn comparisons to both Ibrahimovic and his Leipzig predecessor Erling Haaland.

Due to his success, teams like Manchester United and Chelsea have been keeping an eye on him. However, according to Teamtalk, Newcastle is “intensifying their scouting” of the potent striker because it is anticipated that Callum Wilson would leave St. James’ Park at the end of the current campaign.

At 6 feet 5 inches, Sesko combines strength and quickness in a way that makes him look like his idol, Zlatko Ibrahimovic.

“My idol was Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” Sesko remarked in 2023 to The Guardian. “I don’t claim to play like him, but when he was on the pitch, he was having fun and doing what he wanted to do. When I see a player like that, I’m quite delighted. I was staring at him in every video I could find.

Before what is probably going to be a crucial window for the team, the Magpies have reportedly expressed interest in Sesko. Eddie Howe and company will need to closely monitor their spending in order to fulfil their sustainability and profit targets, even though they are unsure if they will play in Europe next season.

Newcastle’s Alexander Isak in action

Any possible Sesko transfer would probably fuel more rumours about Alexander Isak’s future with the team. The striker has been linked to a number of teams in recent weeks, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Paris Saint-Germain. The Swede’s supporters undoubtedly hope they can persuade the Magpies to sell the forward in order to raise money for more acquisitions.
