Ever since he made his transfer portal debut on March 25, Cade Tyson has become quite the demand.
According to 247Sports, Tyson, the 2022–23 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) freshman of the year, is ranked No. 23 among players in the transfer portal. Schools including (but not limited to) Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas, Villanova, Virginia, and Virginia Tech have expressed interest in him.
Tyson was contacted by the UNC basketball team soon after the team’s season ended, and the student-athlete has been associated with North Carolina ever since.
Tyson is now anticipated to visit Chapel Hill on business the following weekend.
The Tar Heels are hoping to attract individuals who can shoot the basketball with accuracy, thus Travis Branham was the first to break the news of the planned visit.
Fans of the Tar Heels may recognize the last name, of course, as Cade is the younger brother of former Clemson great Hunter Tyson. Being a native of Monroe, North Carolina, he also has ties to the state.
Tyson was a deadly offensive weapon this past season, averaging 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Tyson is ranked second in the country for the 2023–2024 season according to the NCAA’s three-point shooting percentage standards.
Finding reliable scoring options will be the primary priority for the UNC basketball program going forward, especially with Cormac Ryan leaving and the choices regarding RJ Davis and Harrison Ingram still waiting. Before North Carolina made an official approach, there were whispers of a possible relationship with the Tar Heels, as the 6-foot-7 star may consider going back to his home state for his next career stop.
Hubert Davis and his team will be hoping to persuade Cade Tyson that Chapel Hill is the place to be, so this official visit will be significant.
In North Carolina, there is still time to take advantage of FanDuel Sportsbook’s $200 welcome bonus for new customers. Make a minimum $10 deposit, wager $5 or more on any game, and
