The Philadelphia Eagles have been very active this offseason, whether it’s signing new players or extending contracts with current players. According to Adam Schefter, the Eagles have reached an agreement with left lineman Jordan Mailata to extend his contract for three years and $66 million, with $48 million guaranteed.
His $22 million per season average ranks him fourth among the NFL’s highest-paid offensive tackles. Only Laremy Tunsil, Trent Williams, and Andrew Thomas have higher average yearly salaries on their current contracts. Jordan Mailata was a staple with the Philadelphia Eagles, starting all 17 games last season and 57 total since being drafted before to the 2020 season.
This is a hefty salary for a seventh-round pick (233rd overall). The 27-year-old left tackle has been one of the sport’s top players, and he is now being paid accordingly rather than playing in the final year of his contract.
According to Pro Football Focus, Jorda Mailata received the third-highest rating for an offensive tackle last season (84.8). According to their grading method, he finished fifth in run blocking and sixth in pass blocking. Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback, now has his left tackle locked in for three more years.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been very ambitious this summer and have made some important changes. The team added several players, including running back Saquon Barkley, defensive end Bryce Huff, and defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. They also re-signed offensive guard Landon Dickerson for a four-year, $84 million contract.
After losing centre Jason Kelce to retirement, the team is securing the rest of its offensive line for the future. They should be the favourites to win the NFC East because the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants have not made enough progress to be competitive. Washington continues to have a gap, despite being aggressive in free agency. The Philadelphia Eagles have been very ambitious this summer and have made some important changes.
